All RTX 3090s Will be replaced by EVGA under Amazon’s New World

EVGA confirmed that all RTX3090s affected during the New World closed beta would be replaced.

EVGA has announced that it will be replacing every one of its Geforce RTX 3090 graphics cards affected by the closed beta version of Amazon’s New World MMO. According to a spokesperson from PC Gamer, “Yes, all failed 3090s are being replaced.” Some players who participated in the game’s closed beta complain about their graphics cards becoming damaged, EVGA the RTX 3090 card specifically.

The exact cause wasn’t known at the time, Amazon came out and stated that there was no relation between the graphic card issues and the New World closed beta. Amazon claimed thathundreds of thousands of players took part in the New World Closed Beta yesterday with millions of hours of play. They also received reports of New World players experiencing hardware failures while playing.

Additionally, the announcement stated that New World uses standard DirectX calls provided by Windows API. It also mentioned that there were no issues with the EVGA RX3090s during closed beta testing, or in the several months of alpha testing.

Amazon issued an update to address any issues players may have, even though they said that there was no issue with the game. Amazon announced that the New World Closed Beta was safe to play. “To further reassure players, I’ll implement an update today that limits the number of frames I display in my menu screen. We’re grateful for the positive feedback New World has received from players around the globe.

For players still facing issues, Amazon further added, “We think this may be related to the driver settings and frame rate limiters, Nvidia RTX 3090 series, and 100percent GPU utilization.” To fix the issue gamers were advised to disable overrides in the driver settings and limit the maximum FPS to 60.

New World was initially scheduled to begin its launch in the month of August, 2020. Butit was delayed numerous times. The latest postponement sees the launch date moved back to August 31 , in order to make substantial improvements. “We have been hard at work creating amazing features at the end of the game that we believe are essential for launch. The features will not be available until the spring timeframe we had discussed,” said the dev team.
